About the Brewery
Departed Soles Brewing Company opened in 2015 as Jersey City's first modern microbrewery, with a Bay Street tasting room a few blocks from the Grove Street PATH station [1][2]. Founder Brian started the brewery in tribute to his late best friend Chris, who had celiac disease, and it stands out for a large gluten-free lineup brewed with dedicated tanks and canning alongside its conventional beers [1][2]. The intentionally diverse tap list spans hazy IPAs, lagers, and sours, and the dog-friendly taproom hosts yoga, board-game nights, and live music [1][2]. Leashed dogs are welcome indoors and outdoors. Guests under 21 must remain seated with an adult. Nearby LAZ parking is available with brewery validation; it is paid parking.
